Who We Are & Why We Exist
Built for Metal Roofers
Solar Metal Roofs Support Services (SMRSS) Ltd exists to give metal roofing contractors a simple, safe route into integrated solar roofing. The Roofit.Solar product — a full-metal, standing-seam or flat-lock solar roof — is rapidly becoming the premium choice for architects, self-builders, housing developers and heritage projects that demand aesthetics as well as performance.
The product itself installs exactly like a conventional metal roof. The complication — and the reason many roofers still hesitate — is everything that sits behind the panels: DC cabling, inverter selection, battery storage, AC connection, G98/G99/G100 grid applications, MCS certification, and export tariff registration.
SMRSS bridges that gap entirely. You win the roofing contract, you supply and fix the Roofit.Solar panels, and we design, install, test, certify and hand the client a fully commissioned system. You keep control of the roofing package, we take care of everything from inverter specification to export paperwork.
🏗️

Where Does the Solar Rooftop Revolution Leave Metal Roof Installers?
📅 March / April 2026📰 Roofing Today Magazine📋 Pages 36–37
A double-page feature examining how the UK government's solar rooftop revolution is creating a major opportunity for metal roof installers — and how SMRSS is the specialist support service that makes it possible. The article includes a full case study of the Cheltenham Project, a high-end newbuild with a complete Roofit.Solar standing seam roof generating 25kW peak.
“Roofit.Solar has to be on the radar of metal roof installers and suppliers or they will lose out. As solar energy becomes increasingly present in construction projects, this system enables installers to continue delivering standing seam roofs using traditional methods across the entire roof area.”

What the Industry Is Saying
“If roofers are using the Roofit.Solar system, we want them to focus on their expertise — the roof — and be able to leave everything else to us.”
Scott Seville — Cotswold Hill Developments
“The integrated solar panels perfectly complement a traditional standing seam steel roofing project and require the same installation skills. The electrical wiring is simple for the roofer to connect before the system is commissioned.”
John Lewis — Director of Training, Lead Sheet Training Academy
“Clients are delighted and I've had brilliant feedback. It's what they want; they want the look of a standing seam roof but they also want solar — with Roofit.Solar they can now have both. It's a game-changer really.”
